Sweet little Liya,
Sounds like it was just yesterday I went for my first ultrasound scan and curiously looked at the screen as doctor showed me the budding organs of a flesh piece growing inside me. I innocently gazed at the continuous movements happening inside and it was such an unforgettable day for me.
Days passed by, I impatiently waited for every doc visit to listen to the 'heartbeat', every sonogram to see my baby growing and actively playing inside. I am not ashamed to admit that I scanned through the screen to find out the 'secret' places of my kid that I'll get to know if it's a boy or girl (and I was badly wishing for a baby girl)...;)
I fascinatingly scanned through the childcare newsletters and magazines to learn what are you up to. Unlike many, I had a pleasant sail through my pregnancy, no pregnancy mundanes, hassle free life...When I look back, I am so grateful that those 9 months were the best months of my life till then.
Those 9 months passed so easily and you came to our life in a midnight after an emergency C section. I could hardly relate you to that tiny flesh moving inside me anymore. Even now I refer to those photos/experience of sonogram as from 'baby' not Liya.... lolz!
You have changed our life completely. You changed the priorities in our life and you teach us a lot of things everyday. You made us celebrate every moments in our life. You taught us how beautiful a shabby house is. Every time I want to shout at you for making the house a cattle shed, you blow a naughty smile that I tend to laugh aloud.
Whenever I want to get angry on you for messing up entire wardrobe and digging out the brand new dresses, I see you trying hard to get into the very new piece of pant with both legs put in the same hole and jumping like a frog that you won't be able to walk... My anger melts away and I laugh till my tummy aches...lol!
Whenever the house suddenly goes all silent to indicate something naughty is happening in some corner of the house and I find out carpet being decorated with ketchup or water or straw berry juice... or a bottle of water being poured on the keyboard or 'someone' has silently peed on the table... I always wanted to shout but you make me to smile by gifting a kiss on my cheeks with a hissing sound or giving me instructions on how to clean them up!
My girl, honestly we have forgotten how we were living before you were born. We can't imagine even a day living away from you...
Your smile makes our day... your giggle makes us content...your whining makes us sad...your naughtiness make us smile... your stubbornness makes us confused... you are the blessing from Almighty...*Alhamdulillah*
Like I always say, we are proudly completing 2 years of parenting without even a single night-out. You are simply awesome my little girl. We are proud and grateful to have you as our little girl.*Alhamdulillah- Thank God*
May Allah bless you my little girl. May He make you a pious woman - beautiful at your heart, modest in your looks, kind in your words, honest in your deeds.
Let me conclude this letter by quoting few lines from Quran mentioned as Luqman's advice to his son.

Let me conclude this letter by quoting few lines from Quran mentioned as Luqman's advice to his son.
The Noble Qur'an 31:17-19
O my son! Offer prayers perfectly, enjoin (people) for (Al- Ma'ruf) all that is good, and forbid (people) from Al- Munkar (i.e. all that is evil and bad), and bear with patience whatever befalls you. Verily! These are some of the important commandments ordered by Allah with no exemption.
And turn not your face away from men with pride, nor walk in insolence through the earth. Verily, Allah likes not each arrogant boaster.
And be moderate (or show no insolence) in your walking, and lower your voice. Verily, the harshest of all voices is the voice (braying) of the ass.
With love,
Your momma

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful journey life has been! And you have written it so well. You made us feel every step!
Wow! I am still admiring. May God bless her with all health and happiness. :)
She's so sweet! I got a little teary when you wrote, "My girl, honestly we have forgotten how we were living before you were born." It's so true! It's hard to imagine how my husband and I lived before our three kids were born. It won't be long until our two older ones are out of high school. Perhaps then we will remember what we did before children. Blessings on your family!
