As you must be knowing, the Holy month of Ramadan is here, starting from tomorrow. We are getting ready to purify our minds from sins and to fast through the day for the sake of Almighty Allah. Do you know what is Ramadan..? It is the nine-th month of Arabic calendar in which Quran was revealed for the guidence of mankind. Click here to know bit more about Ramadan.

So, you know Ramadan is the nineth month in Hijra calendar, in which practicing Muslims across the world participate in fasting, from dawn to dusk. What is Hijra calendar? How is Hijra calendar different from other calendar? The fundamental thing is that Hijra (islamic) calendar is purely lunar based and NOT synchronized with seasons. Which are other 11 months in Arabic calendar? Do you know?  Listen to this video, and learn (along with Liya) about the months in Islamic calendar.

** My dear readers, if you have any queries regarding Islam, fasting etc, please do not hesitate to ask me. I am not a scholar in Islamic matters, but I promise that I would do the best from my end to clarify your doubts. Thank You!
