23 months...

Yes, just a month away from 2 years of parenting and below are her latest antics and achievements.

* Schooling: As you know already, the biggest milestone achieved through the month is that she is heading to daycare twice in a week. It's been so much fun so far, not much of hassles. *Alhamdulillah*

* Learning: I have noticed that she has been an amazingly quick learner so far. Tell her anything JUST once, she will store it in her memory and will surprise you later (may be a long later) by recalling it. So, it's hard time and I need to ensure that all that goes to her memory are good things and deeds and absolutely no lies even for fun, in front of her.

* Dressing:  She can now dress her up all by herself. So much of fun happening around home, as she occasionally puts her both legs in the same pant-leg....or she wears her shirt the other way around like wearing the front of the shirt facing backwards..lol!

Pappa's socks... worn alone!

* Coloring: We do a lot of coloring and drawing these days. I began printing out some sketches and getting her color inside. We are having fun time, indeed.

* Language: She began talking English at home, in fact it is harder to get a Malayalam word out of her mouth these days. So there are numerous things coming out of her mouth which gift us a good laugh and plenty of  chaos with grammar and words makes it even fascinating.

She talks Malayalam very fluently now (much closer to how we adults speak) and she makes even longer sentences. It is high time to get back to Arabic and concentrate more on English.

* Social Behavior: She is no more unsocial, talks to everyone. If she doesn't have anything to tell, she would at least say "This is my dress" pointing to her dress.

Buzy Bee: She just doesn't have time for anything, such a busy bee she has become. Not even talking to her grandparents over phone. Whenever they come on the other side of call, she gets busy with her toy puppy's potty training or ironing her dress.

  1. She is getting so big!!! What a cutie!! I love her smile, she must be very hard to say no too!! I'm incredibly impressed that at less than two she is bilingual!!! I'm sure she will love getting a chance to play with the other children twice a week at daycare! They always love getting out and exploring a little without us! So nice to get a chance to visit you today, take care my dear blogging friend!!

  2. Sounds like a very normal almost 2 year old, except she's talking more than I've heard that a normal toddler does at that age and she's bilingual. Very impressive! She's even better at coloring in the lines than I was in grade school :)

    Enjoy your weekend!

  3. Oh, she is just darling! I know a lot of people dread the "terrible twos", but as a mom of 3 over 2 (and one that's a baby) I really LOVE that age. It's so fun!

I'm here from voiceboks, and I'm following you now!

  4. She's adorable! I have a 15 month year old and she just soaks in everything around her like a sponge. They learn so quickly and remember everything don't they?! I also have to be conscious of what I do in front of her. We also just started coloring..but she's not as good staying in the lines. Haha =)

    Following from VB.

  5. OK she is so cute and I love, love her outfit. Time goes by quick doesn't it is crazy. Mine is 19 months and getting sassy. I am now following visiting from vB.

  6. I can't believe how many things she is learning - she is so very smart! And just so totally adorable!

    Great pictures =)

  7. My youngest daughter is just a little over two and every day is an adventure with her. It is amazing how their little brains suck everything up and how unwavering they are in their determination to do new things! Lovely blog!

  9. She is so cute! 2 is a big milestone! I have a 2 1/2 year old! :)

Stopping over from the wednesday blog hop. I have my 1,000 fan celebration going on right now giveaways daily! from sept. 19th-30th!

  10. Kids provide endless source to write about. Good blog. You are doing a great thing for your daughter. When she grows up, she will be so much excited to read about her childhood through her mother's words.

As a father of a 2.5 year old daughter I also do something like this, check this out: http://tanayajoshi.wordpress.com/

  11. Liya seems to be progressing quite nicely. She is a very smart little girl :)
