Learning about bird's nest!

While we were at grandparent's place Liya spotted a bird's nest from our land. Her joy had no boundaries. It was for the first time ever she got to hold a real nest in her hand. She demanded to bring that to Bangalore and paint it. So did we!

Along with this we read the book -

Mr. and Mrs. Birds...
Mrs. is not happy about her current home ;)
They go in search of a new home
Various decisions
Many hidden dangers...
And finally, after a terrific incident
Mrs. Bird realizes that her new home isn't safe
They leave their newly built house
And continue living in their old best house...

We fell in love with the book, as always. We learned how birds make nest and the potential dangers and difficulties a bird could face during the process.

Though this is a beginner series, I think, elisions could have been avoided from a "Level 1" book. Level 1 readers may not be comfortable with they're, I'm etc. while they are trying to read by connecting phonic sounds. Nevertheless, this is a must have for little ones.

    1. Thank You! I know what you mean. Looks like I also began to learn phonics after my girl started with preschool. Having learned to read English as "words" not as "sounds" of letters, it's a quite new place to me as well.. :)
