Project 365: Week 1

Hi,

Last year, we completely missed Project 365 - a random pic a day through the year. This year, we are going to catch little Z growing up, every single day. :)

We will not be sharing photos of his sis's face, as she is no more a baby. Looking forward to a fantastic year, IA!

Day 1: At maternal grand parents home. All sleepy after a second head shave. We had scheduled his circumcision for this week. But, cancelled due to a possible 'hand foot mouth' disease worry due to the rashes spotted on his body.

Baby Zee @ 1 month

Hi All,

Baby Zee is growing good so far. He is now 45 days old. We just had his first dose of vaccination yesterday and he did turn out be a cranky boy afterwards. He cried for hours, clung to Mama for 3-4 hours until his pain subsided.

His first smile was 26 days old, on 6th Nov for the first time. He is not yet generous with his smiles though. He is weighing 4.5 kg and 55 cm length, which is in the ideal range for his age. He is a bit short compared to what L was at the same age. :)

Meeting cousins for the first time!

Z's first meeting with his cousins (my SIL's two daughters).
We had nice time with a house full of people to pamper L and Z.

7th Day, Clean head!

As per Islamic tradition, we've got Baby Z's birth hair shaved on 7th day of birth, same as we did for  his sister. It was of course challenging to find someone to shave his head, right here in Bangalore. This is such a common ritual in Muslim families in Kerala, and so it was never such a tiring experience to find one. We finally managed to get a young man through my baby sitter. He did a fantastic job and we were all surprised at the precision and practice he had at such a younger age. Z did great and he slept through the time his head was getting shaved.

Toy train ride with Nilgiri Mountain railway

An incredibly late post is finally up, yay!

During our Ooty trip in last April, we had an exhilarating ride over Niligiri mountains on Ooty's popular toy train. This historic railway line has been operating since 1899 (founded during British rule in India) and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Sites in India.

These rare locomotive steam trains run from Ooty to Mettupalayam, covering 46 Kms and passing through 200 curves, 250 bridges ( including about 30 viaducts ) and 16 tunnels. Blame on lack of time, we had chosen to travel till Coonoor from Ooty (Udagamandalam), which is around 26km. We had booked our tickets well in advance over IRCTC website. It's very difficult to get tickets during peak time especially around summer vacation in India.

Here is the photo journal.... Needless to say, we had best time watching the breathtaking wonders of nature by enjoying the Nilgiris morning breeze patting over us.
